COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -
Columbia Police and the Columbia Fire Department are investigating the discovery of "military-style" ordnance in a pile of trash.
CPD's bomb squad was dispatched Monday to the Mini Mart at Live Oak Street and South Kilbourne Road.
Police spokesperson Jennifer Timmons said an unidentified man found three devices over the weekend in a pile of trash about a mile from the store.
He took the devices to the mini mart and put them in a shed thinking they may be some kind of military memorabilia, police said.
After a day or so, he contacted authorities.
It is unclear if the devices were live. Out of precaution the fire department and the bomb squad are disposing of them.
