Lexington County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man in connection with a double shooting in a hotel parking lot Thursday evening.
Detectives arrested 23-year-old Kenneth Daniel Toland of Columbia on a charge of attempted murder. They were able to track him down based on the description of the vehicle Toland was driving that witnesses provided.
Based on the vehicle description, Richland County Sheriff's deputies pulled him over and turned him over to Lexington County deputies.
Deputies say at about 7:10 p.m. Thursday, two men were shot in the parking lot of the Country Inn and Suites on Piney Grove Rd. near Interstate 26. Both men were shot in their upper torsos.
The victims were identified as 18-year-old Denzell Labrew and 24-year-old Hakiim Rasheed Pope, both of Columbia. Pope was treated at the hospital and released. Labrew was hospitalized.
