WESTMINSTER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Mail was scattered across an Oconee County highway after a mail truck crashed, sending three people to the hospital on Thursday.

Oconee County Fire Chief Charles King said about 1:30 p.m. multiple vehicles including a United State Postal Service mail truck crashed along Highway 59 in Westminster, ejecting one person from their vehicle.

King said three people were injured and were all taken to Oconee Medical Hospital for treatment.

The road is closed while the local postmaster picks up all of the mail that was thrown across the roadway.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
