Authorities say a con man wanted on fraud charges in Indiana was arrested on Folly Beach on Wednesday.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says 63-year-old Douglas Martin was taken into custody at 2 p.m. and locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Martin was originally released on bail in January 2011 but fled to Folly Beach before he could be prosecuted.
Charleston County Sheriff's Maj. Jim Brady says Martin was arrested Nov. 7, but that warrant was dropped by Allen County authorities after Martin had medical issues and was found to be unfit to travel to Indiana.
Indiana officials say Martin may have been feigning illness and authorities reinstituted the warrant.
Records show he was convicted of bank fraud in 2010.
