Police: Darlington murder suspect has ties to Columbia

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Police from the city of Darlington say a man wanted for a murder in the area may be in Columbia with family.

Officials say 25-year-old Michael Rashawn Jackson and several other men rushed into a home on Coker Street at 8 p.m. on Dec. 24 with the intent to rob Antwain Demetrious Jones.

Jones' body was found Monday night, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police say Jackson will be charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, attempted murder and armed robbery once he is apprehended.

Investigators believe Jackson may be driving a brown or tan Dodge Durango.
