Police in Gaston County found nearly 50 guns and thousands of dollars in cash at a home in western Gaston County on Thursday.

Police were already conducting a follow up investigation at a home on the 300 block of Chestnut Church Road when the smelled a strong odor of marijuana, according to a news release from the Gaston Police Department.

A search warrant was obtained and officers entered the home, finding 45 guns, including handguns, rifles, shotguns and assault rifles.

Nine pounds of marijuana, hydrocodone pills and over $5,040 in cash was seized, according to the release.

Mark Wesley Walter, 41, of Kings Mountain, is charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, manufacture marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of selling marijuana and hydrocodone, trafficking opium or heroin conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin, conspiracy to manufacture, sell and deliver nine pounds of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of schedule III and resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer, according to the release.

Bond was set at $300,000.

Police are also looking for Tracey John Walters, 39, of Kings Mountain, is wanted for possession of marijuana, [possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, manufacture marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of selling marijuana and hydrocodone, trafficking opium or heroin, conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin, conspiracy to manufacture, sell, and deliver nine pounds of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia,  simple possession of Hydrocodone. 

The investigation is ongoing.
