Former Governor Mark Sanford is interested in running for his old seat in Congress, according to CNN.

According to the network, Sanford is planning on making a formal announcement soon.

Senator-to-be Tim Scott is currently holding the seat for the state's 1st Congressional District.

Sanford previously served three terms in the seat, from 1995-2001.
