Woman dies when car hits barn, catches fire

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Chapin woman is dead after crashing her vehicle early Tuesday morning.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the victim lost control of her 1998 Infiniti, ran off the left side of Lowman Home Barn Road and hit a barn near U.S. 76 in White Rock.

Troopers say the vehicle then caught fire.

The Richland County Coroner's Office says the woman who died was 42-year-old Priscilla Pearson.

The incident happened around 4 a.m.

Pearson was wearing a seatbelt and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Highway Patrol is investigating.
