Sheriff: Suspect’s car gets stuck in mud while trying to flee scene

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Lexington man on Monday, on charges that the man broke into an unoccupied home on Amicks Ferry Road near Chapin and stole one iron stove, electronic devices and other items from the residence.

Deputies arrested 42-year-old Richard Walter Murray, Jr., on a charge of second-degree burglary.

An arrest warrant alleges that at about 4:40 a.m. on Monday, Murray kicked in a door at the rear of the Amicks Ferry Road home.
