Deadline approaching for renewal of disabled parking permits

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is reminding people with disabilities who have parking placards that they must get a placard with a photo before January 1, 2013.

"Most customers already have a photo-placard, but we want to make every effort to make contact with those who need to upgrade their placards," said DMV Executive Director Kevin Shwedo.  "They need to understand that placards without photos will no longer be accepted by law enforcement."
