The Southeastern Conference has bestowed two honors upon South Carolina's star defensive end after he racked up four and a half sacks in the Gamecocks' win over rival Clemson Saturday night.

The conference named Jadeveon Clowney Co-Defensive Player of the Week and Defensive Lineman of the Week.

The 6-6, 256 pound sophomore set the school record for sacks in a game with 4.5 and broke the school record for sacks in a season with 13 in the Gamecocks' 27-17 win at Clemson.

He totaled seven tackles, including six solo stops, and was also credited with a quarterback pressure.

The sack total was also a Clemson Memorial Stadium record.

The Gamecocks held the Tigers to 17 points and 328 yards, well below their season averages of 44.6 points and 535.6 yards per game.

This is the third time this season that Clowney has been honored by the SEC. He was also the Defensive Lineman of the Week after wins over UAB and Kentucky. He is also a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy, the Lombardi Award and the Bednarik Award.
