COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A two car collision killed one person Thursday night and sent two others to the hospital according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on Windsor Lake Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. when a 1998 Mitsubishi crossed over the center line and hit a 1999 Saturn, according to investigators.

The Mitsubishi overturned and ejected the driver. The Highway Patrol says he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver and the passenger of the Saturn were both transported to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital for their injuries.  They were both wearing seatbelts.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says paperwork in the Mitsubishi identifies the driver as Javier Perez from Hunt Club Road, but multiple trips to the location on Hunt Club Road have not provided positive identification of the driver.

An investigation into this crash remains ongoing. If you have any information about the identity of the Mitsubishi, you are asked to call the Richland County Coroners Office at 803-576-1799.
