SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -
A Summerville woman was charged with driving under the influence late Friday after colliding with a Dorchester County deputy's cruiser.
South Carolina Highway Patrol officials charged 48-year-old Marcia Lorraine Grab with driving under the influence after responding to the wreck at the intersection of Ladson and Miles Jamison roads around 10:45 p.m. Friday.
Troopers said they arrived on scene to find a Dorchester County Sheriff's Office cruiser with severe damage to the right side and front end.
Troopers said Grab, who was driving a green Jeep Wrangler, made a left-hand turn in front of the cruiser, causing the crash. She was arrested at the scene and taken to Charleston County Detention Center.
The deputy involved complained of a loss of feeling to his left shoulder and arm. He was taken to Summerville Medical Center, where doctors observed swelling to his right eye and nose area and strained muscles on his shoulder, neck, arm, and back areas.
