ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) -
A 53-year-old man is behind bars after deputies say he received 70 pounds of marijuana through the mail.
The Orangeburg County Sheriiff's Office has charged Lawrence Allen Irick with possession with intent to distribute near a school and trafficking marijuana.
An incident report states that during an undercover operation at Irick's home on Nov. 9, Irick accepted two packages containing the marijuana at his home and took custody of the packages.
Law enforcement agents then responded to Irick's home and arrested him.
"An ongoing multiagency investigation into marijuana trafficking in Orangeburg County resulted in the arrest of Lawrence Allen Irick on Friday after two packages of marijuana were delivered to his Russell Street address," Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said."The marijuana totaled 70 pounds."
