COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The South Carolina National Guard is displaying a memorial flag honoring the victims of the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks at its headquarters in Columbia.
The public is invited to view the flag from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Guard Armory on Bluff Road.
Maj. Gen. Robert Livingston, the Adjutant General of South Carolina, is signing the flag and attaching a unit patch on behalf of the South Carolina National Guard.
The organization United We Stand, United We Sew created the flag, and it was sewn by volunteers from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They made the 22-foot-by-32-foot flag out of 3,000 miniature flags, representing victims of the terrorist attacks.
The flag, which took five months to complete, is on a cross-country tour.
