Richland County Sheriff's Deputies are searching the Broad River Road area for a suspect who escaped custody Saturday morning.

Deputy Curtis Wilson said 31-year-old Corie Lawrence and two other suspects were taken into custody after a home invasion and kidnapping on Betty's Ln. Saturday morning.  Wilson said the three are accused of forcing their way into a home and firing a gunshot.

As the three suspects were taken to the Sheriff's Department's regional headquarters on Beatty Ln., Wilson said Lawrence escaped.

Deputies said Lawrence entered a home on Crestland Ln. and grabbed clothing and dog bedding.  Lawrence was last seen wearing black jeans and a black hoodie.

Deputies are using K-9 units and helicopters to search the area.

No injuries were reported in the home invasion.

If you can help deputies find Lawrence, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC.
