COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Another teenager has been charged in connection with a murder that took place on N. Main Street back in September, and investigators are trying to process a car involved in the case to see if it could be connected to a hit-and-run that happened the same night.

CPD officers arrested 18-year-old Cheo Green and charged him with murder, carjacking, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Officers previously arrested 17-year-old Austin Jamal Murray in connection with the same incident.

Police suspect Murray and Green were involved in the shooting death of 48-year-old Michael Davis, who was found lying in the middle of Main Street. early on Sept. 16. Davis later died at the hospital.

Along with Green's arrest, police located the 1996 white 4-door Mazda Protege that was seen on surveillance video at the time of the incident.

CPD investigators believe Davis owned the Protege and carjacking was the motive for the crime.

Officials are trying to determine if the car was involved in the hit-and-run that seriously injured 24-year old Lindsay Bires, a nurse at Palmetto Health Richland, who was hit by what police described as a small, white car.

Police have not, however, linked the two cases.

Green has also been charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of another crime in a completely separate case.
