A daycare center on Samson Circle in Columbia has been evacuated after Columbia Police officials say a man called the daycare and threatened to harm himself and the children.
No children have been harmed, but CPD has moved the kids from the Cooper's Child Development Center to a safe location as a precaution.
According to CPD spokesperson Jennifer Timmons, the suspect made a reference to an explosive device, and stands accused ot threatening harm to a worker at the center, the worker's car, and the children inside the daycare.
The daycare owners are notifying parents about the incident and giving them the option of picking up their children.
Details about the suspect are limited, but CPD is actively seeking the person who made the phone call.
