COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -
South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier says the Alabama Crimson Tide (8-0, 5-0 SEC) is so good this year they might be able hang with a couple NFL teams.
On "The Dan Patrick Show" Wednesday morning, the Head Ball Coach talked about Alabama and coach Nick Saban's team.
"Alabama, gosh, they look like they could beat a couple of those NFL teams that I watch on Sundays, and you'll probably agree with me," Spurrier said to Patrick.
Patrick pressed Spurrier further, asking him if Alabama could beat the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6).
"I think a lot of the oddsmakers out there we know about what's going on, I guess Alabama would probably be favored a little bit against some of those teams. I'm just guessing. I don't know," Spurrier said.
Well, in this case, Spurrier was a bit off. Staffers from Patrick's show called an oddsmaker and asked if Alabama could be favored in a game with the Jaguars.
That oddsmaker said the Jags would still be favored by a few touchdowns.
