ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) - Richard Cue threw four touchdown passes - the last a 97-yarder - to four different receivers in South Carolina State's 41-23 victory over Howard in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Saturday.
Cue, who completed 24 of 38 passes for 366 yards, threw his first touchdown pass, a 14-yarder, to Dwight Brannon. It gave the Bulldogs (4-5, 3-3 MEAC) a 7-0 first-quarter lead. Cue struck twice in the second quarter, hitting Lennel Elmore for a 40-yard touchdown and Caleb Davis on a 20-yarder for a 27-10 halftime lead.
Cue saved his best for last: a 97-yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter to Tyler McDonald.
Terrence Leffall tried to keep the Bison (5-3, 4-2) in it throughout Cue's onslaught. Leffall carried the ball 24 times, gaining 127 yards and scoring twice on short touchdown runs. That wasn't enough to deny Cue.
