FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A Florence County deputy was attacked by four suspects after responding to a call about a disorderly person at a motel on Lucas Street.

Captain Michael M. Nunn with the FCSO says a deputy responded to a call around 1:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon and placed a suspect in handcuffs when three other suspects began to fight with the deputy, kicking him to the ground and continuing to kick him in the head and torso.

When backup officers arrived, deputies arrested all four suspects. The injured deputy was transported by EMS to an area hospital for medical treatment and released. Officials have not said when the deputy will return to work.

"This is another example of how our deputies put their lives on the line each and every day," Sheriff Kenney Boone stated. "You never know when a situation will take a deadly turn in this business, so they have to be prepared."

Deputies arrested Adrian Lamont Boney, 22, and 21-year-old Dominique Alexander Cash, both of Wallace, NC, along with Briana Renee Harrison, of Raleigh, NC and Natasha Rena Wright, of Benson, NC, both 21.

All four suspects were charged with assault on a police officer, while Cash faces an additional charge of possession of marijuana.

At a bond hearing Sunday, surety bonds for Wright, Harrison and Boney were set in the amount of $15,000.  Bond for Cash was set at $15,000 for the assault charge and $1,500 for the possession of marijuana charge. All suspects remain at the Florence County Detention Center.
