Nobody seriously injured in school bus accidents

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Nobody was seriously injured in two separate crashes involving school buses Monday morning.

The first incident happened on Farrow Road near Bethune Court around 8:00 a.m.

According to a spokesperson with the Columbia Police Department, the bus, with kids on board, was stopped picking up more kids when the three-vehicle occurred.

Investigators say two cars were stopped next to the bus when a third car hit the vehicle in the rear causing a chain-reaction.

For a short time, two lanes of Farrow Road were blocked while crews cleaned up the accident.

The driver of the car police say caused the accident was charged with driving to fast for conditions.

The second accident happened on Alpine Road near Interstate 20 around 8:00 a.m.

A Chevy Tahoe exiting off of I-20 ran a red light and hit the bus, which was carrying children. 

The driver of the Tahoe was charged with disregarding a traffic light.

Nobody was injured.
