One of the Charlotte area's youngest E. coli victims checked out of the hospital Monday evening in style.
Five-year-old Hannah Roberts left Levine Children's Hospital after battling E. coli for two weeks.
"She is a totally different child than when we brought her in...I'm thrilled beyond words to take her home," Hannah's mom Tracy Roberts said.
Hannah traded her hospital gown for a princess dress and tiara and even got to ride home to Gastonia in a pink Cadillac.
Kimberly Perkins owns the Cadillac and didn't even know the Roberts family until this week. She heard about Hannah on the news and wanted to brighten her day after learning her favorite color is pink.
"I just cannot imagine being in that mother's shoes and being that young child going through this at such young age," Perkins said.
State health officials say Roberts and the other victims from the Charlotte area likely picked up E. coli at the Cleveland County Fair.
