Posted: Updated:

A deputy was involved with a shooting while law enforcement agencies from several counties were serving narcotics warrants in the Ridgeway community of Fairfield County Friday morning.

Officials say warrants were being served in the area around 7:00 a.m. on Mood Harrison Road when a deputy shot an individual that was being served with one of the warrants.

The deputy was not wounded. The suspect, however, was taken to Palmetto Health Richland with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities from the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office, Chester County Sheriff's Office, and the State Law Enforcement Division were involved in the drug investigation.
