Spurrier: Lattimore may be out for Florida game

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Hoping to rebound after a loss in Baton Rouge against the LSU Tigers, South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says several of his players are dealing with injuries.

Perhaps the biggest injury of all is from junior running back Marcus Lattimore, who Spurrier says is suffering from a bruised hip.

"Marcus Lattimore did not practice again today," said Spurrier. "I don't know how to list him. I'm not sure if he's even going to be able to play."

Spurrier said Kenny Miles and Mike Davis have been getting Lattimore's reps in practice, and that Miles may even start.

"We'll see how Marcus is by the weekend," Spurrier said.

Other players, such as Jadeveon Clowney, Kelcy Quarles, JT Surratt, and Byron Jerideau, are also fighting nagging injuries.

Not only is the Head Ball Coach dealing with a bunch of injuries in the wake of the bruising battle against LSU, but he's also dealing with several players sick with a flu-type bug.

"We've had a bunch of guys sick," Spurrier said. "Bruce [Ellington] did not practice today. Ace [Sanders] missed yesterday. [Mike] Matulis was out today. Jimmy Legree was out. A little flu bug hit us before we got the flu shots. Hopefully, those guys will be back by the weekend."

South Carolina will kick off against the Florida Gators in Gainesville at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
