Why should voters choose you in this election?

My wife and I chose to move to Batesburg-Leesville 11 years ago from Lexington School District 5.  We did not have children at the time, but we knew that this was the kind of community that we wanted to raise children in.  I grew up spending summers and many other occasions here because my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents grew up here.

We now have two children, ages 10 and 8, that are a part of the public schools in BL.  They are active in dance, baseball and other activities in the community. I have coached baseball with BL Dixie Youth Sports since my son was 5 and have served on the BL Dixie Youth Board for several years. We own a small business in the community. I have a vested interest in ensuring that our schools provide the best education possible for our children. There are many important issues facing our district today that I believe I can bring a common sense approach to including declining student enrollment, curriculum concerns and questions regarding consolidation. I have never run for public office and am not a politician. I am a husband, father and owner of a "mom and pop" local business and only have the best interest of our children's future at heart.
