COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Richland County deputies are asking for the community's assistance in identifying a man wanted for armed robbery.

Deputies say just before 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, a man entered the Food Lion at 9810 Two Notch Rd. pretending to buy an item at the register. Shortly after that, he pulled out a gun and stole money from the register.

Eventually the man took the entire cash register drawer and left the store.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his mid 20's, approximately 5' 8", thin build, 140 pounds, wearing a black coat with hood, gray cap, dark jeans, and dark shoes.

Sheriff Leon Lott is asking that anyone who was inside the store at the time of this incident, or anyone who has any information that can assist investigators in identifying the suspect to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.

You may be eligible for up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible.
