On Tuesday evening, October 9, AT&T unveiled the
24th edition of the South Carolina African American History Calendar
for 2013. Over the years, nearly 300 outstanding African Americans from
our state have been honored in these calendars highlighting their significant
contributions and exemplary lives.
WIS is proud to partner with AT&T on this project again,
and we look forward to profiling each of the 2013 honorees in monthly segments
that will air within our news and other programs during the coming
year. This year's calendar features 13 impressive individuals who
have distinguished themselves in the areas of government, military service,
education, community activism, and the performing and fine arts.
