Why should voters choose you in this election?

Voters should choose me because I feel I bring a balance perspective to the position of School Board Trustee. I have two children who attend Lexington One. My son is currently a senior at Lexington High School; my daughter is in the eighth grade at Pleasant Hill Middle School. My wife is also an assistant principal at Pleasant Hill Middle School.

I became involved in the education world when my son started attending PHMS in 2006. I served on the School Improvement Council and served as chairman twice. I also served on the 2008 School/ Community Facilities Study Committee, where a large group of citizens met to discuss and plan the direction of the infrastructure needs of Lexington School District One. We are currently in a five-year building phase, which was approved by the voters in our district. I have also served on the Government Relations Committee and the Superintendents Parent Advisory Council. In 2008, I offered my services to serve as a substitute teacher. Although I no longer do this, it gave me great perspective into the needs of teachers and students alike.

As a small business owner and homeowner I also bring the perspective of taxpayer. I feel that my experience as parent, business owner, SIC Chair, substitute teacher and serving on several committees gives the voters someone they can count on to balance growth, taxes, education and spending at the school board level.
