NEWBERRY, SC (WIS)  – A Newberry man is charged with two counts of attempted murder after he allegedly shot into a home while three people were inside.

Tyrone Tanquail Neal Jr., 20, was arrested Thursday after Newberry Police said he was one of several suspects involved in a drive-by shooting at about 5 p.m. Aug. 28 on Charles Street. The 43-year-old homeowner told Newberry Police that she was in a back bedroom when she heard about four gunshots outside of her home.

The homeowner's 13-year-old daughter and 76-year-old mother were in the living room at the time of the incident and saw a green Suburban drive by with two males inside. Another neighbor told police that in addition to the Suburban, there was also a tan Nissan Altima drive by with a male shooting inside the victim's home from the Altima.

Police found bullet holes in the home's front awning and two holes on the interior wall of the home's living room. No injuries were reported from the incident.

Neal is also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and discharging a firearm into a dwelling.  He is incarcerated at the Newberry County Detention Center.

Newberry Police expect more arrests in this case as the investigation continues.
