PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten (WIS) - A third suspect has been arrested for the murder of a midlands couple in St. Maarten.

Prosecutors said a 20-year-old was arrested Thursday on St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands in the deaths of Michael and Thelma King.  The suspect was identified by the initials J.J.W. St. Maarten law does not identify suspects before their trial.

Prosecutors say the suspect left St. Maarten by airplane Wednesday afternoon for St. Thomas. He was extradited to St. Maarten Friday and will go before a judge Monday.

Investigators uncovered information that a third person was involved in the brutal deaths of Michael and Thelma King and a robbery at the Happy Star restaurant in Philipsburg on September 19th.

Friday afternoon, investigators searched the suspect's home.

Two other suspects were arrested within a week of the murders.

The Kings were found brutally murdered in their beachfront condominium two weeks ago.  They own homes in St. Maarten and Mt. Pleasant, but they are originally from the Columbia area.

Their funeral was this week.

King was in the process of building a spiced rum plant.
