MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

The second suspect in the murders of a Mount Pleasant couple will remain behind bars.

The solicitor general in Saint Maarten confirms that a judge extended pre-trial detention for 17-year-old Jeremiah Mills at a hearing Thursday morning.

It's also being reported that Mills was recently released from prison for armed robbery.

On Wednesday, 28-year-old Meyshane Johnson admitted to playing a role in the murders of the Michael and Thelma King.

According to prosecutors, Johnson also admitted to taking part in the robbery of a restaurant the same week the couple was found dead.

The Kings were found stabbed to death in their Caribbean island home on Sept. 21. Their funeral was on Wednesday near Columbia.
