A security guard fired two gunshots at two masked men outside of a Piggly Wiggly on Folly Road late Monday, according to authorities.
A Folly Beach Public Safety incident report states an attendant at Fuel Express was carrying the nightly deposit over to the Piggly Wiggly in the 1800 block of Folly Road, accompanied by a guard armed with a handgun, when two masked gunmen walked up and ordered the pair to freeze.
The security guard then pulled out his gun and fired a round, and the suspects ran off toward Sol Legare Road, according to the report.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene to assist Folly Beach officers.
