A mechanical issue on a tanker truck has resulted in a fire on a truck carrying granulated ammonium nitrate at the intersection of S.C. Highway 39 and Rose Bud Lane in the Chappells section of NewberryMore >>
An evacuation order has been lifted after a truck carrying ammonium nitrate caught on fire in Chappells, according to Newberry County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators with the Lexington County Coroner's Office and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department are looking into the workplace death of a Columbia woman.
Coroner Harry Harman says 47-year-old Susan Henley of Columbia was killed on the job at the Otis Spunkmeyer plant in West Columbia Wednesday. The accident occurred at 11:28 p.m.
Harman said Henley was attempting to unload a truck on the loading dock when she was found beneath the loading dock plate. She died at the scene.
