The attorney for a midlands mother convicted of unlawful conduct in the case of her missing son plans to appeal her conviction and ten-year sentence.

Attorney Hemphill Pride filed a notice of appeal with the court Wednesday in the case of Zinah Jennings.

Jennings was convicted two weeks ago for unlawful conduct toward a child and sentenced to ten years in prison.  Jennings' 18-month-old son, Amir, has not been seen since last November and Zinah has not told investigators where he is.

Investigators say they found Amir's blood on baby blankets retrieved from Jennings' car but no other trace of him. Police continue to search for the little boy.

23-year-old Jennings has been held behind bars since her arrest in December.
