GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - After a robbery in broad daylight at W.T. Owens Store in Georgetown County Tuesday afternoon, the suspect turned himself in to police just hours after the crime.

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office says after they asked for the public's help Tuesday evening in locating Darrel Damain Linen, 21, of Georgetown, the suspect turned himself in to police.

Linen was wanted for the armed robbery of W.T. Owens Store on Pleasant Hill Drive in the Pleasant Hill Community.

Carrie Cuthbertson with the GCSO says at approximately 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Linen entered the store armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from the employee, who refused to give up the cash.

Linen, who was wearing all black, exited the store through the front door and fled on foot. No one was injured during the incident.

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Bloodhound Tracking Team responded to the scene and searched for Linen, but the trail was lost.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night, deputies went to Linen's residence on County Line Road and Linen was taken into custody without incident.

Linen is charged with armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, injury to personal property, value $2,000 or less, and a seat belt article violation. Linen is awaiting a bond hearing.
