21 video poker machines seized after undercover officers received cash payouts

At least 21 video gambling machines were seized across several different raids in Lexington County, according to a release from the Sheriff's Department.

Officials say the machines were taken from two convenience stores and two homes after undercover officers played card games on the illegal devices and received cash prizes.

Investigators seized eight machines from a home on South Lake Drive and eight more at another home at 1103 Wattling Road.

Springdale Police arrested Darryl S. Taylor, 47, and Gregory Guess, 47. Taylor is charged with unlawful possession of a schedule III narcotic and operating a gaming house. Guess is charged with Possession of Marijuana and operating a gaming house.

Police are also searching for 43-year-old Sharon D. Curry.

As for the convenience store busts, officers seized three machines at a C-Mart on Two Notch Road two others at the Mk Mini Mart on Main Street in South Congaree.

Citizens also can report information anonymously by accessing the Crime Tip link on the Sheriff's Department web site (www.lexingtonsheriff.com).

The investigation into the machines is continuing.
