LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A Georgia man accused of practicing medicine without a license has returned Lexington County to face charges.

48-year-old Osei Addo of Austell, GA was arrested at his home two weeks ago and has been held in the Cobb County Detention Center since then.  Tuesday he was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.

A bond hearing will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Addo was charged two weeks ago with practicing medicine without a license and obtaining items under false pretenses.  When he returned to Lexington County Tuesday, Lexington County Sheriff's deputies charged him with three more counts of practicing medicine without a license and financial identity fraud.

Investigators say Addo stole the identity of an Orangeburg County doctor and used his license to get a job with Agape Senior Primary Care.  Addo is accused of administering to as many as 500 patients at five Agape facilities throughout Lexington and Richland Counties.

Addo was employed with Agape Senior Primary Care between February and August 2012.

Investigators are also looking into the possibility that Addo practiced medicine at facilities in Columbia and Greenwood. DHEC is looking into allegations that he prescribed medicine to patients.

Detectives received documentation that Addo earned his doctor of medicine degree from Central America Health Sciences University School of Medicine in Belize.  Investigators say Addo was not licensed to practice medicine in the United States.
