Big news recently when Hildy Teegen announced that she was stepping down as Dean of the USC Moore School of Business. Big news because she just broke ground on the new environmentally-friendly building for the Business school, and also because she's not leaving for another high profile job.
After 5 years in the position, Dean Teegen says it's time for new blood and new ideas, but she's not abandoning the Midlands. While her vision and strong community involvement with the school will be missed, she has much more to contribute to business leadership right here in Columbia.
We look forward to Ms. Teegen's next chapter after her sabbatical year, and are confident that her accomplishments advancing the Moore School of Business leave it in good stead. The school's integration into our business community has been integral to many initiatives including Innovista, and Hildy Teegen has facilitated that very well. We can only hope that her successor will be such an advocate. Get some rest, Hildy…there much more work to be done!
That's my perspective. What's yours?
