COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

When a Columbia Police officer saw several people pushing a car into a Farrow Rd. gas station Friday, the officer's suspicion was aroused.

The car they were pushing matched the description of a vehicle wanted in a burglary on Slighs Avenue Friday morning.

The officer called for help and several other law enforcement officers converged on the Hot Spot gas station on Farrow Rd. near Beltline Blvd.

Several of the suspects ran away, but officers caught up with one person.

Police are working to get more information in the case.  Investigators are trying to determine how many people fled and who they are.

Investigators haven't determined if the car broke down, or if it ran out of gas.

If you have any information that can help, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC.
