Report: Burglar caught after neighbors chased him down

Deputies with the Lexington Sheriff's Department on Friday, August 25, arrested a West Columbia man for burglary while breaking into a home located at 735 Madera Drive, near Batesburg.

Citizens observed two persons that had broken into a home on 735 Madera Drive at approximately 3:25 a.m. on Friday, August 25, and contacted the sheriff's department. The citizens confronted the suspects who dropped the stolen goods and fled on foot. One of the suspects, Lindsay Robinson, Jr., 22, of 131 Pinehurst Street, West Columbia surrendered to officers after he could no longer run because he injured his foot during his attempt to flee.

Robinson provided a written confession to investigators admitting to the burglary. Robinson also implicated his partner in the burglary during his confession. The other suspect, Arrion Charles Cummings, Jr., 22, of 400 Hill Street, Batesburg, is still at-large.
