Woman charged with DUI after police say she hit construction worker

Columbia Police have charged two people with alcohol-related charges after a crash that injured a construction worker.

Police charged 23-year-old Natalie Jacobson with Felony DUI and 24-year-old William Pimental with public drunkenness and providing false information to police.

Jacobson is accused of hitting a worker in the construction zone in the 700 block or Assembly Street at about 5 a.m. Wednesday.  Police say the construction worker suffered severe head injuries.

Pimental was a passenger in Jacobson's car.  Police say when officers asked him about the accident, he did not tell them the truth.  

 Hospital officials the victim was in stable condition at last check. His name has not been released.
