A Batesburg-Leesville woman has died a day after she was involved in a crash on Brodie Road.

According to the Highway Patrol, the accident happened south of Batesburg-Leesville around 9:20 a.m.

Troopers said a 1999 Ford Pickup on Tuesday was traveling west on Brodie Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The driver, a 19-year-old Batesburg-Leesville man, and his female passenger, Davina Riddlehoover, 23, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Riddlehoover passed away at the hospital on Wednesday due to head trauma, according to the coroner.

The condition of the driver was not available.

Neither the driver or passenger was wearing a seat belt.

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
