Rumor Patrol: Are they really coming to the DNC?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) --  The rumor mill of the celebrities coming to town for the Democratic National Convention has been working overtime! Every day, it seems there is a new name being thrown out.

From The Boss to Bono to Eva Longoria and yes, even J-LO, it's hard to know what to believe!

WBTV's Brigida Mack  is working for entertainment beat for the DNC and she's on rumor patrol.

CONFIRMED: will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and former President Bill Clinton appearing at DNC fundraiser at the Westin Hotel, September 4. The event starts at 5 p.m. Tickets start at $150.  

CONFIRMED: The Roots scheduled to perform at a private, invitation only concert at Amos' SouthEnd.

CONFIRMED: Legendary singer Tony Bennett will perform at a private event at The Fillmore Charlotte.

CONFIRMED: Cult favorite The B-52s will perform at private event. Location TBA.

CONFIRMED: After several weeks of rumors, an appearance by singer-songwriter James Taylor is finally confirmed. Taylor is the 3rd artist announced to be playing at CarolinaFest 2012. An Obama supporter, everyone was wondering if he would be here just to lend some star power or even perform.

CONFIRMED: Rapper Flo Rida will be performing at the Got Your 6/Lifetime TV event in Charlotte, NC. The event will be held at Amos Southend. WBTV is working to get more specifics on the event logistics.

CONFIRMED: Rapper-actor Common will perform at the invitation-only Presidential Convention Charity Benefit at the Fillmore Charlotte on September 4. Mega music producer Jermaine Dupri will host the event.

CONFIRMED: Sources tell us R&B singer-songwriter John Legend will perform at party given by Duke Energy at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Monday September 3.

CONFIRMED: Actor Hill Harper (of CSI:NY) and veteran actress Alfre Woodard will be hosting a political summit for students at Johnson C. Smith University during the DNC. The interactive event will be live streamed from 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 4 at Johnson C. Smith University 

CONFIRMED: Actresses Eva Longoria, Ashley Judd and Elizabeth Banks (of "Hunger Games" fame) will all be here for the DNC.  All three are vocal and active supporters of President Obama.

Longoria is a co-chair of Obama's national re-election campaign, Judd will be here as an at-large delegate representing the Tennessee and Banks recently tweeted, "I think everyone knows I go with the Obama flow. Headed to Charlotte for the convention! See you there?"

CONFIRMED: Actors Jeff Bridges and Adrien Grenier (of HBO's "Entourage") will attend a private party at Butter Lounge at the N.C. Music Factory, Monday September 3.

Bridges. along with his band, was also the first performer announced by officials to be playing at CarolinaFest 2012.

RUMORED: Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. A long-time promoter in Charlotte told Brigida he had been hearing that rumor for weeks.

RUMORED: Nicki Minaj reportedly scheduled to perform at a private party. (A fan of the flamboyant rapper, Brigida is working hard to confirm this one!)

DENIED: Eminem was slated to perform at a private party, according to some media reports. (Brigida spoke to his publicist who confirmed he will NOT be at the DNC.)

DENIED: Bono was said to be here for the DNC, but it's actually his organization ONE that will have representatives hear. The music icon himself will not.

DENIED: A rumor Gloria Estefan would be performing at some point during the DNC. WBTV's Sarah Batista tweeted the singer who replied back and said, "you're hearing faulty info, girl! Xoxo!"
