ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit has singled out two Gamecocks and two Clemson Tigers in his annual Herbie Award list.

Herbstreit says sophomore defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is his sixth best defensive end in the nation behind fellow SEC defenders Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery from LSU.

Also on that list is Clemson's Malliciah Goodman at number 12.

Clowney and Goodman may be a little down the list, but junior running back Marcus Lattimore still shines as the top running back in the nation, according to Herbstreit.

Lattimore, of course, is coming off a knee injury that prematurely ended his season last year. Despite that, Herbstreit says not to worry.

"Marcus Lattimore is primed for a big season," said Herbstreit.

While two of South Carolina's most dynamic players are listed, Herbstreit did not forget about Sammy Watkins, Clemson's explosive wide receiver. He says Watkins is the fourth most exciting player in the country.

Herbstreit's college football crystal ball is also apparently clear enough for him to make predictions about who will win each conference and the national championship.

Herbstreit says Alabama will likely beat Georgia in the SEC Championship, but it won't be enough to put the Crimson Tide back in the BCS championship. That honor, according to his prediction, will belong to Florida State and Southern California with the Seminoles being crowned the national champions.
