CLOVER, SC (WBTV) -

A Bethel firefighter was arrested early Thursday morning for impersonating an officer when he pulled a woman over for passing him on the road.

David Charles Williams, 29, of Clover, is charged with impersonating an officer, according to the report from the York County Sheriff's Office.

The incident was reported at 1:05 a.m. on Ridge Road in Clover.

Williams told deputies that a Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a teenager passed him on a double yellow line while speeding.

Williams turned on his red and white flashing lights in his truck and followed the vehicle until it pulled over.

Williams took the teenager's driver's license and returned to Bethel Fire Department where he awaited deputies.

The teen told deputies that Williams cussed at her after he pulled her over.

Williams was processed at the York County Detention Center.
