Even without stadium home, Blowfish win CPL Championship

Posted: Updated:

The Columbia Blowfish don't know where they'll play baseball next season, but when they do get a new home, they'll have a nice trophy to display.

The Blowfish won the Coastal Plain League championship on Tuesday night. They beat the Fayetteville Swampdogs 8 to 3. They win the series 2 to 1.

It's the first CPL Championship for the Blowfish. The Blowfish win the title in their seventh year of existence.

The champs have to find a new home because the city of Columbia has sold the Capital City Stadium property to an Atlanta developer. A Walmart is expected to replace the ballpark, which was built in 1945.
