RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The now infamous but still unidentified man who received a beating from a female Family Dollar clerk is wanted in a string of similar robberies in the area.

The latest surveillance video released in a slew of Richland County robberies is from an Arby's on Two Notch Rd.

A man dressed in a black hoodie asked the clerk for change and when the cash drawer opened, he helped himself.

"We're getting some leads, some significant leads and we're aggressively going after this individual," said Deputy Curtis Wilson with the Richland County Sheriff's Department. "We feel that we're getting pretty close but we're also looking for anyone who has some information on the identity of this suspect."

The man has robbed seven businesses in about a week.

You may remember the Family Dollar clerk who fought back on July 28th. The suspect was still able to get away with some cash, but not before taking a beating from the store clerk.

The following week, Friday through Sunday, the suspect hit Burger King, Taco Bell, Zaxby's, Arby's and Quick Cash Payloan.

Then deputies say he hit a Waffle House on Two Notch Road on Monday.

All at different times of day, but done in the same way every single time.

"He's pretending to buy an item or asking for change or placing a fake order," said Wilson. "As soon as the register opens up, that's when he makes his move."

Richland County deputies say this suspect has not used a weapon so far, but that doesn't mean he won't start.

"The longer than an individual commits crimes, he becomes bolder," said Wilson. "We want to stop him before he gets to that point."

The surveillance video has made the Family Dollar clerk a hero to her customers, but Wilson said it's always safer to wait on law enforcement if you can.

If you have any tips that could help deputies track him down, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
