RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The mother of a toddler who has been missing since November has been charged with assault.

Richland County Sheriff's Deputies charged Zinah Jennings with third degree assault and battery Thursday.

The sheriff's office says the charge stems from an altercation with a nurse that happened earlier this year in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Jennings' attorney says his client is accused of shoving a nurse after being given the wrong medication.

This new charge comes about two weeks before Jennings' trial is supposed to start in connection with the disappearance of her son, Amir Jennings.
