Investigators looking for tips in April homicide

Posted: Updated:
RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Investigators hope someone will come forward to help them figure out who shot and killed a Richland County man in April.

A loved one found Raynard McCoy dead in his home on Raymond Street on April 20.

The 25-year-old's death has been a mystery for nearly four months and his mother wants to know who killed him.

"He meant everything to us," said Linda McCoy. "That was our angel baby. We needed him here."

Deputies said McCoy was shot multiple times around 3 p.m.

"My son didn't deserve to die at all," said McCoy. "Especially the way that he died. They just took my son's life for nothing."

The killer or killers got away. Investigators think it may have been a robbery.

"We have received a few tips regarding this homicide," said Richland County Sheriff's investigator J.C. Mauldin. "Certainly not as many as I would like to see."

Today, Linda remembers her son through his rap music. He was known as 'Boo Gotti.'

She's hoping somebody will come forward with information that will help investigators solve her son's homicide.

"So if you know something, just say it," said McCoy. "Come and tell somebody something."
